The Natural Home By Hans Blomquist

31st May 2012
The best part of the job is receiving fabulous design books, seriously I cannot get enough. I was so excited when I received a copy of The Natural Home. A gorgeous book by Swedish art director and stylist, Hans Blomquist, where the essence of his evocative and painterly style is totally explored.

At the heart of this book is Hans’ love for nature, which inspires his trademark atmospheric displays and quirky interiors. The Natural Home reveals key facets of Hans’ unique look. The second part of the book also shows us around real life homes that convey  elegance and simplicity of the natural look.

With sublime photography by Debi Treloar, this book is truly captivating and I was left wanting more and more eye candy to flick through.

This book is stunning. My mum was from Scandinavia – Norway. I love the way they work with natural designs just like Vintage57 does and I also, do too. It's soooooo interesting working with what you have and making it into something unique and special but still respecting the environment we live in.

What a great selection of images my two favourite characteristics in these layouts are the church pew (very rustic and complimentary to the individual seating on the opposite side of the table) and the retro plastic 70s chair on the swivel base (these are coming back everywhere at the moment which is strange as I never saw them as the most comfortable piece of furniture).
