Easter Weekend To Bruges

13th May 2014

During Easter we managed a quick escape to Bruges, the picture perfect town in Flanders, northern part of Belgium. This quaint pretty town is an absolute gem and we were so lucky with the weather, even though it was rather nippy for mid April. Small in size, this town is rather cosmopolitan and utterly charming and one of the best preserved pre-motorised cities in Europe. The historical centre is very small, so easy to walk around or you can choose to cycle as this form of transport is very popular in Bruges. Inside the city walls , Bruges is filled with street after street of charming historic houses. The encircling canal is also a rare beauty. Walking around Bruges, you did feel you were transported back in time or on the set of Games of Thrones…

Pretty 🙂 I was thinking about going to Bruges as well – do you have any recommendations where to stay?

Hey Justyna, we booked very last minute during Easter so we ended up staying at the crown plaza right in the city centre. However there are lots of hotels if you book in advance and also there are some good air bnb’s xxx

That’s what they meant when they said a picture is worth a thousand words… SO pretty!
