Raw Chocolate Brownie Recipe

12th November 2014

It’s another week and another recipe up on the blog! I’m a big lover of chocolate, anything remotely chocolatey and gooey makes me go weak at the knees. However because of my sweet tooth I’m always looking for scrumptious healthy options and I think we have a winner with these delicious raw chocolate brownies. My sister Dania came up with this recipe and now I am totally hooked!

‘These are basically very similar to my raw cacao bliss ball recipe. This time instead of rolling them into small bite sized balls I turned them into brownies. They really are so quick and easy to make and delicious. Perfect if you fancy a sweet treat and totally healthy!’

Ingredients
2 cups of medjool dates
1 cup of almonds
2-3 tablespoons of raw cacao (adjust according to how chocolatey you like your brownies)
Desiccated coconut

Optional
1 tablespoon of maca powder
2 tablespoon of raw honey or preferred liquid sweetener ( I don’t like mine too sweet so I do not add any sweetener)

Start by blending the almonds in your food processor for 1 minute, until they are crumbly, then add the rest of the ingredients except for the desiccated coconut and blend. Once the mixture is sticky place it on a baking tray and sprinkle with desiccated coconut. Place the tray in the freezer for an hour to set. When ready cut into slices and store in the fridge. Enjoy!
