Interior Styling Project For Dwell

17th February 2016

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the Dwell store in Oxford to style a few room sets. Styling is a big passion of mine and so I always jump at any given opportunity – well not literally 😉 I had to style four rooms, so I chose the entrance, dining, living and bedroom. With no given brief I decided to create a character. Meet Stella, a graphic designer living with her boyfriend. She is in her mid thirties, determined, fun with a slight eclectic style. She loves grey but also the occasional pop of colour. I wanted all of the rooms to work well together and tell a story, her story…

The fun part of this job was to style the rooms using Dwell’s furniture and accessories. I was basically like a big kid in a candy store. Leave me with a few accessories and I’m literally in heaven. It really wasn’t a hard task at all and with a few added props of my own I tried to bring the space alive. When styling a room I always want to create an atmosphere that I too would feel comfortable living in, and this is exactly what I did.

I was back with one of my favourite photographers Andrew Boyd. We’ve worked many times together so it’s always nice going into a new project with someone you know well and who gets your work ethos completely. He was accompanied by his lovely assistant Laura Falconer, who I cannot thank enough for all of her help. All in all we made a pretty good team and even though it was a really long day we thoroughly enjoyed it! I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at the Dwell Store in Oxford, who were absolutely amazing. They put up with us and our crazy demands #stylistrequests.

So here are the four rooms which I hope you guys like. I’ve added all the links to most pieces, some items are only available from the actual store not online.

    Hey!

I feel inspired by the colours of the bedroom and living room, but I don’t think I’m that brave to go with such bold colours! Maybe one day hehe when I get bored with the pink bedroom 🙂

Lovely taste! I would like to paint my son’s bedroom with that yellow you have used for the dining room, what the name of the colour would be? Simona (simona@hubqueen.com)
