Capturing Pretty Doors In Athens

28th April 2016

Anafiotika Anafiotika

For those of you that follow me on Instagram may well know about my passion of photographing pretty doors. In fact taking my obsession further, a month ago I created a new Instagram account called @Prettydoortraits and in under a month it already has over 1K followers. So with my recent trip to Athens with Discover Greece, It only made sense that Julia, (my perfect travel companion and talented photo snapper) and I hunted down the very best of doors…

When travelling I love nothing more than just walking around and getting a real sense of the city. I love discovering and turning into unexpected corners and finding small hidden gems. During our stay in Athens we stayed at the New Hotel which was  bang in the city centre. Our days consisted of wandering around the pretty hills of Anafiotika, part of the historical Plaka area. So many beautiful alleyways to completely lose yourself with gorgeous views and pretty little restaurants and cafes.

One of my highlights was visiting the Acropolis and seeing the sunset over the ancient ruins. We also enjoyed a fabulous city tour with Urban Adventures where we really got a sense of the city and saw some amazing shops, cafes and markets. We discovered some real gems which I cannot wait to share with you in my next upcoming posts. You can see many of my recommendations over on Instagram in the mean time…

Here is a look at some of the doors I spotted while out and about in Athens….
