LDF10: Once Upon A Dream

23rd September 2010
Are you suffering from insomnia? feeling jet-lagged? Well perhaps you should stop by the Andaz Liverpool Street lounge during the London Design Festival. Here you will find the most amazing installation by French designer, Mathieu Lehanneur. It is a clever sleeping capsule called ‘Once Upon A Dream’ which was presented for the first time at this year’s Salone Del Mobile, Milan.
Mathieu Lehanneur was commissioned by Veuve Clicquot to create this amazing fairy tale like space. ‘Once Upon A Dream’ is basically a sleep unit in a pod like structure that has been designed to help people recuperate from jet lag and cure insomnia.
It was very exciting that I could get a chance to see this surreal piece up close. With its Organic structure and design I found it very enchanting making this a real relaxed space.
