Recipe Of The Week: Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Sometimes I go a little crazy and I need something sweet, especially in the afternoons when my concentration levels are crashing. As I am fully aware that eating refined sugar is not great for us, I do try and look for alternatives that still taste delicious and help with my craves.
The other day I was at a friends house and we decided to experiment with a dessert as we wanted something sweet. We wanted to make a chocolate mouse with avocados. I know it sounds weird right?! My husband was totally against the idea but as always I proved him wrong. It honestly tastes delicious and really feeds that sweet craving that you’re yearning for and it’s good for you! Double whammy I say! Such an easy recipe that I couldn’t resist but to share it with you guys!
Ingredients (serves 4)
2 Avocados
400g Dark chocolate
40g Cacao powder
1 1/2 Tablespoons Agave syrup
4 Tablespoons of hazelnut milk (or until you get a nice creamy texture)
Chopped hazelnuts for sprinkling
Place the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and sit it over a pan of gently simmering water. Do make sure the water doesn’t touch the base of the bowl. Keep stirring and let it gently melt. Then place the melted chocolate, the avocados (already chopped), cacao powder, agave syrup and hazelnut milk all into a blender and blend for a few seconds – until you get a creamy texture. If it is not creamy enough then add more hazelnut milk. Again if you like it more or less chocolatey then you can adjust it by how much cacao powder you want to add. Once ready place into your bowls and sprinkle over some chopped hazelnuts. And voila – told you it was so so easy 🙂 Enjoy!
