These Boots Are Made For Walking: A Love Affair With Red
It has taken me a while to warm to the idea of the latest red boot trend. While I absolutely love this look on others, I’ve always felt a little wary donning them myself. I guess there is slight reminiscence of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, red shoes do that to me. In fact red isn’t actually I colour that I particularly love but having said that I always seem to be drawn to it. It’s a statement colour no question about it so the introvert in me (yes I do have an introvert side in case you were wondering) can sometimes feel a little on show. It’s like wearing red lipstick, I hardly do, but when I do apply it I feel totally made up and ready for a night out. I guess it is a case of wearing what makes you feel comfortable in and slowly making subtle changes. For me it takes time.
I’m a bit like that, I need to warm to an idea, the same goes for trends. subconsciously we are all drawn to trends whether we like it or not. At first it takes time with certain looks and then you slowly start feeling inspired by seeing them worn on others, that’s the beauty of fashion, like a domino effect. Eventually I find myself drawn to particular look, even if I am late to the party (time is of the essence), but that is when my love affair really starts and then I become forever faithful. Good things come to those who wait, so I say to myself.
So there you have it, I’ve succumbed to the trend and now it’s here to stay.
