I have always been a big fan of Melanie Porter’s work so I was
pleasantly surprised to get a sneak peek of her new collection.

Melanie Porter is a designer-maker of contemporary knitted interior
products. In particular specialising in the unique practice of felted
knit covered chairs and lamps. Every piece is individually handmade in
the UK, and first to be seen at Tent London this September.

Through her work she explores the use of traditional craft techniques to
create products with a contemporary aesthetic. She uses knit to produce
the fabric, traditional upholstery to restore the furniture and crochet
to create handmade finishes all of which are applied with an interplay
of colours and texture. Thus resulting in quirky, fun and original pieces.
